Are there fireworks on July 4th?

Are there fireworks at WB or do they only do that in downtown Wilmington? My family will be in Wrightsville on the 4th and I've heard Wilmington is a mad house during the fireworks and would rather walk to somewhere near the beach.

Theres a few little fireworks shows, but nothing even close in comparison to the show downtown. Worth the trip if you've never been.
